Audio-Tek International Installs Hard Rock Turbosound

Turbosound, the British-based manufacturer of live performance and installed-sound loudspeakers, reports that London-based Audio-Tek International has completed a variety of bar, club and corporate installations using Turbosound TXD, QLight and Impact systems. Audio-Tek International’s recent projects have included Birmingham club venue Air - home of Godskitchen; the Hard Rock Café in Manchester; and the brand's Hard Rock Bar in Bristol, plus the Anam Bar in north London.

At Air in Birmingham, Audio-Tek International has installed six QLight TQ-440 units, along with four THL-828 bass enclosures and TXD-151 systems, while Bristol's Hard Rock Bar features TXD-121 and TSB-110 loudspeakers. As part of a new mezzanine-level development, Manchester's Hard Rock Café required a new audio system to provide a medium-level wash throughout the area, with Audio-Tek installing twelve diminutive Impact 50 loudspeakers for the purpose. The company's installation at the very stylish Anam Bar in Islington - a fashionable Irish cocktail bar - entailed a combined TXD and Impact system to serve the venue's different zones. Four TXD-121 and two TXD-118 units were deployed in the basement club area, with the lounge area covered by two TSB-110 units and four Impact 50 loudspeakers. A further four Impact 80.2 systems provide coverage for the bar area.

Audio-Tek International's Santi Arribas, commented: “Turbsound's current portfolio of products provides an impressive degree of choice, and it is a straightforward task to select and specify a suitable Turbosound-based system, whatever a project's requirements. In addition to the range of options available, the audio quality and reliability are of a very high standard, hence our regular use of the products in all our installations. The products’ performance and coverage are also dependably predictable, easing the job of designing systems to match a venue's acoustic and practical constraints. Above all, they just sound so good!”

Other recent installations completed by Audio-Tek International include a background music system for the makeover photographic studio Doubletake Portraits in London, using Impact 50 units in the office and public areas. Further afield, the company's international work has encompassed the Blow Fish Sushi restaurant on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles. DJs working the venue get very loud, and Santi's design utilises seventeen Turbosound TCS-35 systems, plus 8 TSB-110 subwoofer enclosures, to achieve the necessary coverage and SPL handling.

Audio-Tek International, together with associate company Audio-Tek, holds the Miller BEDA (British Entertainment and Discotheque Association) ‘Sound Installation Company of the Year’ Award. Dublin-based Audio-Tek distributes Turbosound products throughout Eire and Northern Ireland, and has a solid, twenty-year track record in supplying professional sound, lighting and video systems, with numerous prestigious projects to its credit. The company's Audio-Tek International office in London is headed by Santi Arribas, who is responsible for managing the UK and international projects, and whose credentials include three years as facilities engineer for the Ministry of Sound.
