Color Kinetics Expands Line of Digital Light Engines
Color Kinetics has demonstrated continued support for the accelerating adoption of intelligent solid-state lighting with the expansion of its Digital Light Engine (DLE) line. The integrated OEM assemblies extend Color Kinetics’ proven technologies to manufacturers seeking to cost-effectively develop and deliver intelligent solid-state lighting systems that meet diverse application demands.
Color Kinetics say they have an open, active approach to forming OEM and licensing partnerships with manufacturers who recognize the value and increasingly prevalent role of intelligent solid-state lighting -- both within and beyond the traditional lighting market. The DLE offering comprises Color Kinetics’ core knowledge, experience, technologies, intellectual property and services to speed partners’ time to market with complete lighting systems.
DLEs are available in various shapes and sizes for simple integration with third party product designs, including three newly released versions that further expand the range of possible applications. DLE L-101 -- a linear module incorporating 24 surface mount LEDs at a 120° x 120° beam angle; available in 12” (30.5 cm) and 6” (15.2 cm) lengths. It is well suited for wall grazing, alcove lighting and marker lighting. DLE L-103 is a 12” (30.5 cm) linear module incorporating 54 surface mount LEDs at a wide beam distribution of 180° x 180°. It is also well suited for wall grazing, alcove lighting and marker lighting.
In addition to the LED-based lighting modules, partners may leverage Color Kinetics’ comprehensive training, reference materials, and services to ensure successful technology integration into existing fixtures, or to enable completely new fixture designs. DLEs are compatible with Color Kinetics’ broad line of power, control, and authoring technologies, as well as standard DMX control and authoring systems.
