Le Mark Develop New Tool Box Label/Tape for Harmonised Wiring Colours
Le Mark has announced the launch of a new product to assist all areas of the entertainment industry effected by the changes to existing electrical wiring core colours.
These colours are sometimes referred to as “harmonised” colours and will bring the UK closely in line with practice in mainland Europe. Following visitor discussion during the 2004 PLASA show and since, the need to produce a simple to use and visually effective method of marking both electrical cable 'tails' and when required Cam-Lok/Power Lock type connectors was requested. With three-phase, a caution notice is also required at the distribution board.
To assist, Le Mark has developed a version of their established Identi-Tak cable length marking system. The new version, Identi-Tail, combines the existing virtues of vinyl-based adhesive tape encapsulating the printed area with a clear polypropylene laminate to maximise protection. The new version has two new twin features of being Pantone colour-matched to the electrical phase colours. One roll of each alpha-numeric characters to indicate L1, L2, L3 or N, plus a unique perforation every 52mm allows engineers to select Identi-Tail as a conventional label, or continue to the next perforation and use as a complete 'wrap around' label for the connector itself.
The Identi-Tail product is very durable, water-resistant, and simple to use. It is designed to be fixed and read in both internal and exterior conditions. Each 'starter' pack contains one roll of each colour and its alpha numeric printed code. Roll size is 25mm x 33m, or the equivalent of 632 labels 25mm x 52mm per roll - plus five 'Distribution Board' labels each of two popular sizes.
