Major Dutch Superstar Tours with Midas and Klark Teknik
Frans Bauer is one of the true superstars of the Dutch music scene. In the course of his latest tour, which runs until February 2005, the 31-year-old chart topper will be playing all the largest theatres and concert halls in the Netherlands including venues such as the 5000-capacity Maaspoort Venue in Den Bosch. The task of providing the sound reinforcement for the tour is in the capable hands of ST Sound of Tiel, whose MD, Sander de Kruijf, and FOH Engineer, John Kriek, together with Midas Consoles Holland and Electric Audio B.V., opted for a solution based on equipment from Midas, Klark Teknik and Electro-Voice.
Midas consoles and Klark Teknik processing comprise a major part of the system with a 48-channel Heritage 3000 at FoH and a 40-channel Midas Verona handling monitors and backing vocals. Three of Klark Teknik's latest DN370 EQ devices, provide EQ facilities for Frans Bauer's vocal and critical system EQ, while overall audio management and system processing for the ElectroVoice Xlc compact line array system comes courtesy of two DN9848 loudspeaker processors.
"Frans Bauer is without doubt one of the best-known and most popular artists on the Dutch music scene, so his tour demanded an audio solution of the very highest quality," commented Axel Nagtegaal, head of Midas Consoles Holland. Indeed, not only has the singer been recently knighted by Queen Beatrix of Holland for his contribution to Dutch music, he has also become one of the country's most popular TV personalities with his reality TV show, "De Bauers" winning the prestigious 'Gauden Harp' award last year. "In the Heritage 3000, we have provided Frans with the international industry standard FoH board along with the very best the market has to offer in EQ terms with the new DN370, and of course the new Verona console is playing a vital role on monitors, offering all the audio quality for which Midas is famed in a modern, compact and cost-effective format. It's a very compelling combination."
