Trantec at the Glasgow Gang Show

RF Specialist Trantec Systems recently collaborated with Sussex based audio distributor and installer CommsAndSound to supply their innovative S4000 UHF radio microphone system for the annual Glasgow Gang Show, staged at the Mitchell theatre in Glasgow’s City Centre. Produced by the Greater Glasgow Scout Council, this the longest running Gang Show in the world - the first production took place in 1936 at the Alhambra Theatre.

CommsAndSound MD Brian Tugwell specified Trantec’ s S4000 for its dynamic range and frequency agility. Boasting the latest PLL tuning technology, it provided an adaptable, cost efficient and flexible solution as well as giving superb audio quality. The 10 x channel system comprised eight of the new very low profile lapel TS212 microphones together with the body-packs transmitters and two hand held microphones. The receivers were mounted in a rack case with power distribution, whilst the aerials were all wired into antenna distribution units and out to two remote dipole antennas.

Tugwell commented: “Trantec provided superb quality and service, the S4000 system is also great value for money. It is enormously flexible and ideal in a live environment such as this. The Trantec team were great – supplying the system to a very tight deadline. We’re looking forward to working with them more into 2005.”
