DPA Appoints Intercom as Exclusive Distributor for South East Europe
DPA Microphones has announced the appointment of Intercom d.o.o. as its exclusive distributor for Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia & Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria and Romania. This is the first time the microphone range has been represented in many of these territories.
Incorporated three years ago in Zagreb, Croatia, Intercom is in the process of establishing a distributor network across the eight countries. "Our business concept is to create a distribution network for a small number of carefully selected, complementary brands, says sales manager Vatroslav Mlinar. "Quality is imperative, and DPA fits our vision extremely well, being a professional company that pays great attention to detail in every aspect of business. It¹s a strong brand with a great product range highly rated for both quality and reliability. Throughout the region, the market is very pleased to learn that DPA will at last be represented locally, with demo stock available for personal evaluation. The markets of South East Europe are stabilising slowly but surely, both politically and economically, and we are very positive about the business potential for DPA¹s product range throughout the region."
Mlinar also confirms that the miniature series is in great demand for broadcasting, theatre and live sound applications. This is borne out by the impressive number of DPA sales since INTERCOM¹s appointment, the first customer being Zagreb-based production company Digiwhale which purchased a set of miniature mics comprising three IMK 4061 instrument microphone kits, two 4060 and one 4062 miniatures plus a range of accessories. Digiwhale¹s Davorin Tomsic, who enjoys experimenting with ambient sound and mic positioning, purchased the set, chosen for its quality and flexibility, primarily for location recordings of a drum-kit. The second customer was Zagreb-based Gama Studio, the largest independent production and post-production facility in Croatia, which is currently working on a large-scale TV sit-com and has purchased four 4061 miniatures to use with its Shure wireless system for all location dialogue recording. Additionally, national Croatian TV broadcaster HTV has ordered 24 IMK 4061 instrument kits for recording string orchestras, chosen for the great sound of the miniature microphones as well as the range of accessories, from dedicated mic-holders for string instruments to adhesive microphone tape and wireless adapters.
Intercom also represents Miller & Kreisel loudspeaker products throughout the eight countries.
