Dutch Cultural Centre Equipped with iDR
Dutch AV specialists, Hecla Professional, selected an Allen & Heath iDR-8 digital mixing processor to manage sound reinforcement in the auditorium of a new Cultural Centre in Apeldoorn, Holland. The 200-capacity auditorium - used for lectures, films, presentations and debating forums - is part of the Cultural Centre which also hosts two museums, an archives collection and the city library.
The iDR system was selected because it is flexible and can manage audio distribution for the varied functions hosted at the venue. For some events, an extra balcony is added to increase capacity, adding another demand to sound reinforcement. However, the iDR's programmable presets mean the venue can be converted from a film to a debating theatre, literally at the touch of a button.
Playback is provided by a Renkus Heinz 5.1 speaker system and a Barco video-projector.
