Solid State Logic Appoints Director Of International Sales
UK console manufacturer Solid State Logic announced the appointment of Philippe Guerinet to the position of director of international sales.
Philippe Guerinet is already well known to the pro audio and broadcast industries as the head of SSL France. He will continue to run the company’s French office, as well as representing SSL in international markets.
36-year-old Guerinet has been fanatical about audio since his teenage years when he developed a passion for it. For his initial Bacalaureat “E”, he studied mathematics, physics and technology, following this with Bacalaureat +4Y studies from the University of Paris XI, which are equivalent to British degrees in electronics and business for the electronics industries.
During his student years, Guerinet worked part time in the sound reinforcement industry, acting as a live engineer for public events. After qualifying, he was employed by Studer France where he spent three years in the sales department.
Guerinet moved to SSL France in 1993, initially as a sales executive before being promoted to the position of SSL France manager in 1999. His knowledge of the SSL product range is extensive and he has experience of all applications of the products including outside broadcast, broadcast for radio and television, music studios, post-production facilities and film theatres.
“My main aim is to ensure that SSL customers are happy with both the products and the support they receive from the company,” he explains. “I want our customers to have real confidence in their relationship with SSL so that they come back to us again, in an on-going win/win relationship.”
Guerinet adds that working for SSL France proved to be a very exciting experience and the close relationships he developed with the parent company in the UK made this new position an obvious next step. “I am delighted with this new challenge, especially when one considers the excellent products that SSL is currently offering to customers worldwide. SSL is a great company, the SSL product range has always been a benchmark in the audio industry and the current launch or our AWS 900 system is creating a new benchmark in a market where nobody was expecting us. I hope to combine my in-house experience of SSL with a continental view on the markets in which we operate in order to further enhance the company’s profile and continue to give SSL customers the support and assistance they deserve.”
Commenting on Guerinet’s appointment, SSL managing director Colin Pringle says: “Philippe has been a great asset to SSL in the French market with his strong customer focus. I am delighted to provide the opportunity for him to extend his commercial role to a wider range of territories."
