Formula Sound Offer Bespoke Manufacturing Service for Audio Equipment
While many large audio equipment manufacturers continue to manufacture standard ranges of products, Formula Sound is breaking the trend by offering a new bespoke equipment design and manufacturing service.
Formula Sound's standard ranges of award-winning mixers and audio control products have earned the company an enviable reputation as an international leader in its field. The company is now taking the same innovative approach to product design and manufacture which created these products, and making it directly available to clients who have specific audio requirements.
"Being one of the smaller companies in our industry means we are far more flexible and responsive when it comes to meeting our customers' needs," comments managing director Tony Cockell. "Although we have never broadcast the fact, we have been both adapting our standard products or building bespoke equipment for customers for many years. That makes us ideally placed to now offer this as a proper service and to provide the type of problem solving capability that few other companies can offer.
"We're happy to design and produce one-off solutions for individual applications. Very recently we've taken requests from a customer in Hong Kong needing a specialist mixer for use with Karaoke systems, and another looking for a mixer optimised for use with a particular type of audio visual system. These are typical of the types of areas our products find their way into."
Some previous bespoke projects have resulted in equipment which has then led to the creation of a new, standard Formula Sound product, such the recently launched QUE-18 foldback mixer. A development of the company's previously successful QUE-8 and QUE-10 units, the QUE-18 was created in response to a specific request for a large, multi-channel foldback system for use in musical theatre productions.
"After discussions with a customer we knew we were able to help, and we designed the QUE-18 with their specific requirements in mind," adds Tony Cockell. "They were delighted with the result, and now just months after we produced the prototype, production models are already in use in theatres as far afield as Spain, The Netherlands, Australia and Korea."
Like all standard Formula Sound products, every item of bespoke equipment is built in the UK to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
