Learn to Scratch with Allen & Heath

Allen & Heath has teamed up with leading Drum & Bass website, Drum & Bass Arena, to present a series of scratch shorts to introduce its newly updated Xone:02 pro scratch mixer.

Over the course of six tutorial sessions, 2002's young DMC Champion, DJ IQ, will put the Xone:02 through its considerable paces as he crabs and chirps, tears and transforms, making full use of the features the A&H kit has to offer. The sessions will be broadcast weekly through the website's video portal.

In six separate sessions, IQ walks through Rubs & Scratch Plates, Cutting & Chirping, Tears & Transforms, Crabs & Juggling, the Mixer & Flares. Scratching and juggling beats is steadily building a following inside standard drum & bass mixing, largely thanks to the impressive and influential skills of Hype and Marky and an influx of hiphop orientated talent from the likes of multi-DMC crowned DJ Craze (aka Cartel), Mixologists and Plus One.

Allen & Heath have responded to demand and used the experience and expertise that has made them a favourite with DJs and clubs across the world to assemble a rugged mixer that still delivers A&H's trademark rich analogue sound.

Bolted down securely at world renowned nightclub The End, their Operations Manager was quick to praise the equipment: "Allen & Heath have almost become the industry standard these days. They have put a lot of time and research into what DJs want and what nightclub operators need, and largely they have put this information into practice. I cannot think of a breaks/DnB DJ who does not love it."

IQ is currently travelling with hiphop star Jehst on his 'Falling Down' LP tour alongside Asaviour, Terrafirma and DJ Acyde; IQ also has 2 mix tapes on release, 'Home Work' and 'The Unheard'.
