Mercury 5000HD Joins Digital Projection Mercury 3-chip Series

Digital Projection has expanded its value-driven 3-chip DLP Mercury series lineup by introducing the Mercury 5000HD. Already in production, DPI will exhibit the 5000HD at InfoComm 2004 which runs from 9-11 June in Atlanta, Georgia.

The new Mercury 5000HD incorporates 3-chip Dark Metal DLP technology by Texas Instruments and delivers brightness of 4,500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of more than 1000:1 through 1280 x 720 native resolution DMDs. The 5000HD’s greyscale depth of 14-bits per DMD creates more than four trillion on-screen colours.

There are many aspects of the 5000HD - shared by all Mercury projectors - that render it ideal for a wide variety of applications. It can support any video or computer source and includes advanced options such as accurate image resizing, optimised video processing and user-definable geometric warp. It can be outfitted with an array of fixed and zoom lenses and employs a low-cost, long-life HID lamp system.

"Our new 5000HD is yet another great addition to our outstanding line-up of high-performance Mercury projection systems," said Mike Levi, president of Digital Projection, Inc. "It’s an incredible value for permanent installations and staged events that require a compact 16 x 9 native aspect ratio projector with a healthy amount of brightness, 3-chip DLP imaging accuracy, extensive source connectivity and a highly-capable feature set.”
