ADLIB VerTec For Charlatons
ADLIB Audio is supplying a VerTec line array system and full audio production to the Charlatans for their current UK tour. This is the first time the mid sized 4888 VerTec boxes have been on tour in the UK
The system was specified by Charlatan’s FOH engineer Dian Barton. It consists of 24 VerTec 4888 (midi) line array elements for the FOH stacks, which are suitably loud and proud enough for the occasion. The expedient size of the 4888 enclosures, their light weight and fast rigging capabilities make line array a practical option for medium sized, theatre style venues. This is augmented with eight ADLIB DF4 2 x 18 subs, which rumble the bottom end, and are used to great effect by Barton in songs like ‘Love Is The Key’. She is using a Midas H3000 console to mix.
Monitor engineer Ian Barton is using 14 ADLIB 15 x 2 wedges and DF2 side fills and a Midas XL3 console. ADLIb is also supplying a Midas MH4 desk for the support bands. Systems engineers and techs are ADLIB’s Marc Peers and Kenny Perrin.
Processing is via BSS 366 Omnidrive compacts. Other equipment includes Drawmer gates, BSS and dbx valve compressors, plus a medley of effects including traditional favourites like the Eventide H3000 harmoniser and the Lexicon PCM 70. ADLIB is also using 24 of its new stock of Camco amplifiers for the tour. The company’s entire hire stock has now been replaced with the robust new lightweight Camco range.
Lighting designer is Andy Liddle, with equipment supplied by Lite Alternative. Tour manager is Neil Mather and production manager is John Burgess – who also drives the truck supplied by Fly By Night.
