Harman Pro UK at ABTT Theatre Show 2004

Harman Pro UK, a subsidiary of Harman International Industries, will exhibit at ABTT for the first time, reflecting the growing importance of the theatre market for Harman brands. Harman Pro UK is the UK and Ireland’s exclusive distributor for JBL, AKG and dbx products, and offer full technical and service support along with acoustic design assistance to their approved dealer and installer network.

Harman Pro UK will feature the JBL VerTec Line Array speakers, JBL Control contractor speakers, AKG WMS4000 wireless microphones, AKG installed discreet microphones and Performance microphones, the Dbx 260 DriveRack and the Dbx Zone Pro 640.

The verTec easy-to-rig line array speaker technology provides highly consistent and predictable sound patterns, offering many advantages over traditional sound systems in theatres. VerTec is an excellent solution for acoustically challenging venues and often eliminates the need for delay speakers.

The Control Contractor series of installation loudspeakers includes a complete range of surface-mount, in-ceiling and subwoofer models, providing a wide variety of choices to meet any architectural, aesthetic and system performance requirements.

The WMS 4000 is probably the most advanced and innovative professional wireless system available today. It is based on intensive R ‘n’ D and has been thoroughly tested ‘in situ’ prior to production. Useful features include an advanced backlit display on both transmitters and the receiver – great for seeing in the dark; a ‘remaining battery life’ indicator; silent mode; pilot tone status data transmission; environment scan and rehearsal functions; auto-setup frequency search and may other user-friendly functions.

With its Discreet Acoustics Compact Series (DAC), AKG offers a cost efficient alternative for budget-conscious installations. The Compact Series can also be combined with the Modular Series, allowing modules with additional features to also be used as and when needed.

Performance microphones must be extremely rugged, insensitive to humidity and temperature variations, and easy to use as well as giving a powerful sound. There’s a wide choice of specialised models for micing up various instruments and creating a unique sound. For more than five decades, AKG has been making a complete line of performance microphones that have demonstrated their superior quality in day-to-day use. AKG is now considered a ‘live sound standard’ item, and the use of innovative technologies ensures the brand is constantly looking to the future.

The ZonePro 640 provides state-of-the-art signal processing for background music applications, whilst maintaining a simple, secure and intuitive interface. From the powerful DSP modules to the multiple control interfaces, the ZonePro 640 provides all the processing and control necessary for permanent BGM installations. Additionally, the GUI interface allows any contractor to quickly set-up and optimize the 640 to its full potential, by streamlining the setup process and providing a menu-based setup procedure including system setup and configuration.

The Dbx 260 DriveRack capitalises on the road tested and contractor approved nature of the other products in the DriveRack line, whilst also adding new features. The 2 in 6 out 260 offers full band-pass and crossover configurations as well as an independent output processing, and a full time RTA for Live Sound applications. Contractors will appreciate its control inputs for wall panel zone control and the Advanced Feedback Suppression (AFS). The 260 has an impressive list of features including: Auto Gain control (AGC), Auto EQ and JBL Speaker and Crown power Amp tunings with Setup Wizard, and a host of other features. All dbx DriveRack units are designed to be the only signal processors necessary between mixer and amplifiers.
