Adamson on Glastonbury’s JazzWorld Stage

Adamson on Glastonbury’s JazzWorld Stage

For the first time, Adamson loudspeakers were used at the Glastonbury Festival. East Anglia-based AudioLease, one of the latest sound companies to join Adamson’s worldwide Y-Axis partner network, supplied the sound reinforcement system for the festival’s JazzWorld stage.

The system was comprised of 32 Adamson Y-Axis Y10 line array loudspeakers (16 per side) controlled by XTA DP226 and DP224 digital loudspeaker processors and powered by Lab.gruppen FP 6400 amplification. A2 subs (2 x 18” drivers), an AudioLease design, were used for low frequency extension.

Purchased through Sennheiser UK, AudioLease has had its Y10 rig out on a number of concert dates with artists including Sean Paul, Air and Hayley Westenra.

The diverse musical styles that were presented on Glastonbury’s JazzWorld stage really served to showcase the sonic capabilities of the Y-Axis system. Artists appearing on the stage during the annual three-day festival included Joss Stone, Toots and the Maytals, Jamie Cullum, Amy Winehouse and Bonnie Raitt.

AudioLease owner Steve Sunderland said that despite the rain that slowed down the festival’s set-up, “the Y10s were up in minutes and sounded awesome. None of the engineers using the stage had any negatives – they were all blown away.”

Adamson’s managing director Jesse Adamson said: “Having our loudspeakers represented at Glastonbury is a huge step forward for Adamson’s presence in the UK market. Sennheiser UK, our exclusive distributor for Great Britain, has worked extremely hard in establishing Adamson loudspeakers as a solid, rider-friendly product that is more than up to the performance demands of touring artists.”
