Colin Lee to Handle SSL X Logic Range

Console manufacturer Solid State Logic has appointed Colin Lee (pictured) as product manager for its recently introduced X Logic range of rack-mounted outboard equipment.
Lee should need no introduction to many people within the broadcast and pro audio industries thanks to a number of key roles that he has held in the past. These include a spell as product manager at Snell & Wilcox where he was responsible for high definition broadcast equipment, and a number of years with Soundcraft where he was part of the team that developed the Spirit range of compact mixers.
For the past two years, Lee has been running his own company outside the pro audio business but he was tempted back into the industry by SSL because he felt that managing the XLogic range presented such an exciting challenge.
He says: “Given my long-standing interest in music, it’s great to be back in the audio industry and to be part of a company that I have always held in such high regard. The XLogic range is a natural progression for SSL and I’m really looking forward to playing a part in its future success.”
Since launching XLogic at AES 2003 in October, SSL has enjoyed a very positive response, with over 600 units now sold worldwide. Developed from SSL’s renowned XL 9000 K Series console, each XLogic unit features the company’s world-class SuperAnalogue audio quality. The products can be used with a wide variety of applications, such as high-resolution digital recording for the latest DAW systems and compression for DVD mastering.
The XLogic product range consists of five units: the XLogic XL Channel, XLogic 5.1 Multi-channel Compressor (the world’s first surround compressor), XLogic 4 channel SuperAnalogue Mic Amp, classic G Series Stereo Compressor, as well as a Mic Amp Remote.
As product manager, Lee is now the central point of contact for all things relating to the XLogic range. His responsibilities include liaising between SSL’s engineering department and its XLogic distributors and he will also be attending trade exhibitions and arranging demonstrations to promote XLogic to end users.
