CT Screenco Large It for Pop Beach

CT Screenco again found themselves rigging giant I-mag displays on Great Yarmouth’s Central Beach when Channel 4’s Pop Beach 2 event for T4 returned there recently.

The party proved another great success as 22,000 people assembled to see acts such as Ash, Big Brovas, Blazin Squad, Blue, Emma Bunton, Goldfrapp, Jamelia, Javine, Lemar, McFly, Shaznay Lewis, Speedway and Supergrass delight the crowds.

CT Screenco had been asked by production company Done & Dusted to provide four screens. As event manager, Jo Paton, said: “These high resolution screens are great for this kind of event, giving everyone a chance to see the show in great detail.”

CT Screenco set two of their Barco DLite 7 daylight screens (in 22 sq. metre configurations) on either side of the stage, flanking a central portrait screen measuring 18 sq metres. A fourth D7 repeater screen — also measuring 18 sq metres — was sited further down the beach for the benefit of crowds viewing at the rear. Feeds were sent from the CTV truck, from where the show was recorded for transmission.

The final word came from Jo: “It’s not brilliant building production on a sandy beach, but everyone coped magnificently and the event went very well.”
