Event Sound & Light /KV2 at The D-Day Celebrations

As a major sound and lighting hire company, it was important that when they selected a new sound system they make the right decisions.
In Event’s case they turned to KV2 Audio. Paul Galley of Event S&L explains: “When it came to the purchase of a sound system we had to take into account the wide variety of shows and corporate events that we do, we also needed a system that would give good audibility”. Gareth Jones of Villa Audio called them and suggested that they go across to his unit to hear this new sound system that had just been presented to him. “To say that he was excited would be a vast understatement”, commented Paul. “Anyway, when we got there we were not disappointed. We immediately took into account its size, efficiency and versatility. To obtain such an acutely high definition of sound with such impact, authority and power was a really enjoyable experience.” In addition to this, the system allows them to use various combinations of modules depending on the job specifications. “This means we can bring to the market excellent sound quality with the versatility to handle most venues both inside and outdoors”, was Paul’s positive comment.
When they came to put it all to work, their first major project was an outdoor event, the ‘D Day’ celebrations at Hylands House and organised by Chelmsford Borough Council.
Paul said: “Our brief was to provide a PA system for an outdoor audience of up to 2000 people, depending on the weather. The main thing for the show was the vocals – they had to be heard everywhere.” They needed to create a warm, even sound throughout Hylands House’s garden. The headline artist was the legendary Squadronairs Big Band. The system performed brilliantly and they received positive confirmed satisfaction from the organisers who were delighted.
Paul reflects on their decision to invest in KV2: “We have had the system now for just over a month now and it has gone out twice a week without fail. Everyone who has stopped and listened to it has been subjected to an experience of exceptional clarity, even coverage and an output that creates the ‘wow’ factor every time. You usually get listeners asking: ‘who is the band?’ or ‘who is the artist?’ but now they are asking ‘what is the PA?’
Other shows Event S & L have worked on with the system include a local band night supporting up and coming thrash metal bands, four outdoor festivals, and corporate parties. The KV2 system has also survived nine hours of Drum and Bass for a Cambridge Ball. A delighted Paul Galley enthused: “Every job we have applied the KV2 to, has surpassed our expectations and is actively creating a consistent amount of interest and extra work.”
