INA Demands Second Helpings of SSL’s MT Plus Digital Audio Desk
The Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA), has recently acquired its second Solid State Logic MT Plus digital audio console, which has been installed at INA’s post production facilities in Paris.
INA is a public organization that was established in 1975 with the aim of preserving France’s national audiovisual heritage. Its role includes collecting audiovisual programmes, preserving and restoring the collections, offering up to date and efficient documentary services and improving access to images and sounds within the film, television and internet environments.
Brigitte Vayron, head of INA’s post production sound studios, says: “We have been SSL customers for nearly 10 years and have always enjoyed good quality digital systems from the company and excellent after-sales support. Our first 40 fader MT Plus was installed last year and has brought great satisfaction to staff and customers alike. When the volume of work we were handling became too much for one high-end room, we decided to build a second one with identical equipment and capacity, hence the installation of our second MT Plus.”
Philippe Guerinet, SSL’s director of international sales, adds: “It is great to have the opportunity to work closely with a team that has such expertise in the sound mixing process. We are delighted that they recognize the benefits and sound quality of SSL’s desks.”
Solid State Logic’s MT Plus is an advanced digital audio console designed specifically for multitrack recording, overdub, and mixing applications. It provides fast, easy, detailed and reliable operation and is suitable for use in a variety of studio installations. Its in-line design allows it to maximize the number of signal paths for any given console size. As a stand-alone system the MT Plus can handle over 400 inputs and outputs, or it can be networked with other SSL products allowing thousands of analogue and digital I/O. Full dynamic automation of the MT Plus simplifies the mixing process and enables complete system reset in a fraction of the time required with analogue consoles.
