Salsa In The City With White Light Events

Event lighting specialist brings a Latin feel to European Group's venue at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City of London.

Leading party and event lighting specialist, White Light Events, recently continued its longstanding relationship with event producer The European Group, providing lighting and electrical services for the summer season of events at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City of London.

Designed along the theme of 'Latin Quarter', the events took place in and around a series of marquee structures spanning over 100mx50m and capable of housing up to 1500 seated guests. White Light Events' lighting designer Jason Larcombe specified a dynamic system that lit both the exterior and interior of the marquees. A sophisticated nightclub lighting installation formed the central focus of the venue, thus designed to support both live bands and DJs and work alongside a complex audio-visual system. Larcombe dressed the rest of the venue with projections across the floor and ceilings, achieving a hot and vibrant atmosphere.

To achieve this design, Larcombe made use of the extensive range of equipment available in the hire stocks of White Light and The Moving Light Company, including Martin Mac500s, Robocolor Pro400s, Destroyers and Mania DC1s, High End Technobeams, PAR cans of all sizes from birdies to Par64s,

ETC Source Fours, Robert Juliat followspots and indoor and outdoor floodlights controlled by Avolites Pearl 2000 and ETC Express consoles. The system had to be versatile enough to not only light European Group's own party nights, but also events arranged by other production companies who hired the venue and facilities from European Group.

As well as the lighting design, White Light Events' in-house production team, led by Simon Jones, oversaw the complete lighting installation, including rigging, electrical services, the entertainment lighting rig and also secondary lighting, exit signs and the other requirements of a temporary venue. To achieve the installation on schedule, the White Light Events' team coordinated with European Group's production manager Simon Gooding as well as the company's CEO, Christopher Palmer-Jeffrey.

The Honourable Artillery Company season is the latest in a long series of collaborations between White Light Events and the European Group: the two companies have also worked together on events at Coram's Fields and London Zoo. Details of these events, and the many other projects for which White

Light Events have provided lighting, can be found at White Light Events website: http://www.whitelightevents.com
