Utopium Lighting and a Massive Summer Attack

Two days earlier Spiderman 2 was premiered across the Square at The Odeon with McFly performing on the balcony of the cinema. The after-show party, at Billingsgate Old Market, hosted seven areas – the Spider Web Dance Floor and the City Scape being the largest. The curved trussing from two Orbit stages were used to provide the ‘spider’s legs’ coming down from the roof – were lined with Pixeline.
On both these events Utopium Lighting Ltd. provided the plant and site lighting and mains distro as well as the show lighting.
Utopium Lighting was in London again at Brixton with Massive Attack for their two sell-out shows in July. Andy Hurst used a combination of Studio PC Beams, Kino Flow 4-cells, Atomic Strobes, City Colours and x-Spots Extremes. These were used in conjunction with the 64 Pixeline being toured for the summer and also supplied by Utopium.
For the third year Utopium Lighting is servicing the Lamertree Festival in Salisbury, with Jools Holland and Nigel Kennedy as the main acts. LD Chris Bushell used an Avolites Pearl for control on the four stages – with Utopium providing the video package in addition to the site and event lighting.
Orange Ashton Court Festival is in its 30th year with Utopium lighting the event for the 10th year running. Here, LD Stuart Farrell used new SGM wash lights in his design, along with Chroma Strips – all from Utopium. The Stranglers and Roni Size were the two main acts involved.
