Blackout Dresses Ted Baker’s Autumn/Winter Collection

Drapes and rigging specialist Blackout was recently appointed by London fashion house Ted Baker to help realise their annual in-house catwalk presentation, showcasing the stunning new Autumn/Winter collection.

Staged at the client’s Camden HQ, the event was co-ordinated by Angela Imbeah, Amy Rogers and Yvonne Lehnert of the Press and PR teams. It was attended by over 300 Ted Baker UK store managers and wholesalers, who were treated to an exclusive preview of the new range.

Blackout’s team, headed by project manager Chris Brian, worked with Tom Waldron, marketing assistant, to transform the atrium space into an appropriate auditorium environment.

Blackout designed and supplied 14 outdoor black PUFC drapes each measuring 6 metres by 9 metres to block a massive 25 x 18 metre triangular skylight The drapes were suspended on the exterior of the window using steel wire rope, with each drape precisely overlapped to ensure no natural light could filter through.

The blacked out space enhanced the lighting effects created by specialists, Project Events, which complemented the collection and brought it to life with a seasonal autumn palette of golds, ochres, greens and reds.

Tom Waldron explained: “It was essential to block out any daylight to create a dramatic Autumnal mood and convey the spirit of our Autumn/Winter collection. Blackout’s help in the production process was invaluable – they were efficient, meticulous and very helpful from start to finish.”
