DigiSound Launches at PLASA

Sunbaba Screens, suppliers of printed and plain banners, screens and PA scrims are showcasing the newly developed ‘DigiSound’ at PLASA 2004.

   As part of their continual product development programme the Sunbaba Screens team have developed a new scrim material - ‘DigiSound’ - which allows sound to pass through it with almost no signal degradation. This revolutionary fabric can also be printed upon with full colour images.

   Scrims, which were initially made of just plain fabric, are traditionally used to hide and protect PA systems, but increasingly they are used as giant advertising hoardings with full colour digitally printed images, and make up an integral branding opportunity at most events.

   The unique symmetry of the yarn in DigiSound allows brilliant images to be reproduced, while maximizing the mesh openings. This type of weave increases the sound flow, compared with other mesh scrims.

   Sunbaba has been evaluating the new material over the summer at a number of outdoor events in the UK and results to date have revealed that DigiSound is considerably better for use as PA scrims then materials used in the past. Further tests with one of the UK’s leading PA suppliers are planned for later this year.

   The company has a range of specifically designed materials for use as PA scrims, stage backdrops and banners for both interior and exterior applications. These products, as well as the new DigiSound, will be on display for the first time in the UK on Sunbaba Screen’s stand JJ36 at PLASA 2004.

   Also showcasing at PLASA will be the company’s new Milos modular quick truss system, which allows their products to be displayed at any venue, and is also ideal for exhibition stands.
