Enlarged SBES Opens for Business

With roughly three months to go before this year's show, the SBES web-site (www.sbes.com) is now taking visitor registrations on line. The process is simple and the web-site contains a great deal of information about the event. Tickets and other information will be sent out by post to all those who have registered, two weeks before SBES takes place in November.

One of the biggest changes for 2004 is that SBES will be back in Birmingham at the Pavillion Suite of NEC, near Birmingham International Airport, and easily accessible by both road and rail. Although the London Show in 2003 proved popular with many, research by Point Promotions at the event last year indicated a preference for Birmingham, even from some London based exhibitors and visitors!

Accommodation for events at the NEC tends to get booked up well in advance, so if you're planning to make the trip and stay overnight, it's advisable to make reservations as early as possible. One good thing is that, since SBES was last in Birmingham a couple of years ago, the number of hotels close to the NEC has dramatically increased. The list now includes a Premier Lodge, an Express Holiday Inn, the Crowne Plazza, and the Hilton Birmingham Metropole - all within just half a mile of the venue. Two other hotels, the Heath Lodge and the Arden Hotel, are both less than two miles away and there are numerous alternatives at the nearby Birmingham International Airport (Novotel, Holiday Inn etc.). SBES visitors can use the free hotel booking service provided by Virtuoso Limited (www.virtuosoltd.com/).

The 29th Sound Broadcasting Equipment Show takes place between 10:00am and 6:00pm on the 24th and 25th of November in the Pavilion Suite of the National Exhibition Centre adjacent to Birmingham International Airport and rail station, just a few minutes drive from the M42 motorway. General information about the NEC and local amenities can be found on the NEC web-site at www.necgroup.co.uk/. Specific information about SBES 2004 can be found on the web at: http://www.sbes.com/.
