G-LEC Helps Jazz Up Montreux
For the 38th year running the rhythmic sounds of the Montreux Jazz Festival filled the Swiss air. A record 220,000 music lovers bought tickets for the 15-day event, making this the best attended festival yet.
The 3,500 seat Stravinski auditorium, the largest of the three venues, played host to famous acts, for which lighting designer Laurent Zumhofen, of Senetec, specified four vertically rigged sections of G-LEC ClassicFrame, each comprised of four individual frames, to help set the scene.
The transparent, lightweight ClassicFrame ensures a dynamic texture with fast moving and smooth, bright graphics for some of the biggest names in the music business, including Alicia Keys, Seal and legendary blues artists like BB King, Solomon Burke, Van Morrison and Buddy Guy. The Irish Celtic fusion family, the Corrs also played the festival before continuing their pan American and European tour, Borrowed Heaven, which now also uses the G-LEC ClassicFrame to add a touch of class to the show.
