QM Group Launches Tip Resistant Queue Barrier

QM Group Launches Tip Resistant Queue Barrier

Qm Group, the leading UK manufacturer of queue management solutions has launched an updated tip resistant queue barrier, which has been designed to out-perform other products in the market. The barrier has a tip resistance 10 degrees greater than other solutions QM has tested.

The company has introduced the GL 45 mkII product for use in situations where crowd pressure in a queue may ordinarily result in barriers being knocked over.

The new product features a specially redesigned cast iron base with a decorative, scuff-resistant steel cover. QM Group has engineered the base with a low centre of gravity and this improves tip resistance. The metal upright post, which supports the queue barrier tape, is available in a stainless steel or powder coated finish in a variety of colours and is welded to the base to maximise operating life.

It represents the latest in a series of innovations from QM Group which already has more than 4500 electronic queue management solutions and 40,000 barriers installed in organisations including NatWest, The Post Office, Boots, Woolworths and Marks & Spencer.

The 2.3m retractable guide tape is compatible with existing QM products as well as rival offerings so premises owners can add to their existing barrier stock without having to replace older barriers.

The tapes are available in a range of standard colours as well as being customisable with logos, specific messages or special colours.

QM frequently prints custom messages on the tapes, in up to 16 colours, ranging from promotional and branding devices to safety warnings.

The colours of posts and tapes can be chosen to provide high visual tonal contrast with their surroundings, to the benefit of the visually impaired.

The new product is also fully compatible with QM’s current range of writing desks, sign holders and literature dispensers as well as the popular modular in queue merchandising system.

Commenting on the launch of the GL 45 Mk II, QM Group marketing manager Mike Caddy said, “Although barriers and tapes aren’t sexy products, they perform an important role and it’s essential to keep improving them. The launch of the GL 45 Mk II demonstrates our commitment to continuous product development and I am confident this new barrier will appeal to any organisation with queues to manage.”
