Argentina's National Snow Festival Uses D.A.S. Active Line Array

Located in the Patagonian region of southern Argentina, the city of San Carlos de Bariloche is well known for its fantastic ski resorts. D.A.S. Aero systems were used in Bariloche recently for the annual ‘National Snow Festival’ which kicks off the ski season in the southern hemisphere. For this event, powered D.A.S. Aero-28 line arrays were used for the concerts, which attracted over 12,000 fans to hear Argentinean performers ‘El Chaqueño Pallvecino’, ‘La Mosca’ and ‘David’, from the Argentinean version of ‘Star Academy’.

The sound rental company Martí Sonido, managed by Ariel Marti, was responsible for the sound reinforcement, which consisted of 12 powered CA-28A mid-high packs flown per side and 12 powered CA-215 subwoofer units per side. On stage, Ariel opted for ST-1800's for side-fills and an ST-1000 for drums. Stage monitoring was handled by four ST-15's and four ST-32 co-axial units. "The Aero systems,” commented Ariel, "provided us with an exceptionally smooth sounding system and provided excellent coverage."

The same system was used in July in the city of Rosario with the duo ‘Sin Bandera’, one of Mexico's most popular musical formations. According to Marti: "The only rider accepted was ours because the group had just been working with the Aero-28 system in Central America and preferred it over all other brands."

Martí has provided D.A.S. systems for numerous events, in some cases with crowds of over 100,000 people. In 2003, Martí was in Spain as sound engineer for the band ‘La Mosca’ which toured the country using the powered Compact systems.
