Cambridge Disco Hire and Sales Invest in KV2 Systems
This year has seen a meteoric rise in new investment by Terry Jones of Cambridge Disco Hire and Sales. After completing his long planned move to a new unit of spacious and easily approachable premises, over the last 24 months he has built an enviable showroom with the very latest lighting effects and audio products as well as a first class hire and production dept that includes everything from staging to dressing rooms.
As part of the investment for the production and hire dept, Terry had been looking for a compact but high output and scaleable audio system for some time.
He says: “I had the opportunity to see and hear several systems, but when Andy Austin-Brown presented the KV2 Audio ES system to me last year, I knew that I had found what I had been waiting to hear. Compact, but incredibly potent, I was astonished to hear such vivid resolution and integrity. Just to make sure that I was not kidding myself, I proceeded to call and invite several engineers and colleagues to come and hear the system. They all agreed with me.”
Terry duly took delivery of a system in April, to coincide with the start of the annual Cambridge Balls that take place throughout the many colleges. On the very first gig, a known customer and fellow hire and production company - Nightlife Promotions - run by Matt Bartle from Hertfordshire were so impressed that they placed an order for the same system.
In late July, Terry took delivery of a second system consisting of the new KV2 EX10 and EX2.2 active mid hi and subwoofer package. The system has already been thoroughly shaken down on several outdoor gigs as well as the prolific summer balls. Terry summarises: “Trucking costs and manpower have been drastically reduced, whilst the performance, quality and customer satisfaction has risen. Competition is tough, but the new systems have without doubt given me an edge in cost effectiveness.”
