CT Provides Restoration Final Backdrop at Hampton Court

Commissioned by Endemol UK, the big screen specialists provided 44 sq. metres of Barco DLite 7 LED daylight screen, in a 24 x 9 panel configuration, mounted in an elliptical frame designed by Patrick Doherty. Situated to one side of the West Gate (close to the Main Entrance), the screen was positioned at the back of the stage set.
CT Screenco were commissioned by the show's unit manager, Jo Clement, who said: "We used a big screen for last year's series and found it essential." But she switched to the Crawley-based service providers after working with them on the production of The Games for Channel 4 in Sheffield, earlier in the year.
Supported by a number of plasma displays, the screen took VT play-out feeds, showing each nomination for the final.
Commented Ms. Clement: "We had built up a good relationship with CT's Adrian Offord during The Games, and we knew we could rely on CT's back-up. This was a live production, and having the big screen at Hampton Court enabled us to present montages of all the buildings. We wanted to go for something big and the size of this display suited the scale of the building."
Winning the contest earned The Old Grammar School a £2.5m grant from The Heritage Lottery Fund towards the restoration of the building.
