D.A.S. Aero-48 Systems at the Naadam Festival in Mongolia

Orgoin Bayar, owner of the leisure centre 'UB Palace', the largest in the capital of Ulaan Baatar, was impressed with the performance of the Aero systems he had seen at the Frankfurt Pro Light and Sound show. After comparing the D.A.S. system with many others, he decided on acquiring the first line array system in Mongolia, buying 20 x Aero 48 large format line array modules and 12 x Aero-218 Sub low frequency systems. The system debuted at the 'Naadam Festival', the largest live event in Mongolia. The outdoor event was held in the esplanade, of the 'UB Palace' complex, which consists of restaurants, pubs, and discos. More than 6 000 people attended the event in which the groups 'East 17' and 'Lumino' were the main attraction.

The concerts were held on a stage that was approximately 15 metres wide. On each wing and from a height of about nine metres, 10 x Aero 48 line array systems were flown. Completing the P.A. were 12 x Aero 218 Sub subwoofer systems, which provided additional low frequency. The physical setup of the systems was handled with the Aero-ware prediction software which allows the user to input basic dimensional data of the venue. The software then provides an output of all the information needed for splay angle settings for optimized coverage.

Joan La Roda, D.A.S. acoustic engineer and Juan Luís García, area sales manager were on hand providing factory support for the event. According to La Roda: "The Aero systems offered impressive sound pressure levels. The sound had to cover an area about 140 metres deep by 50 meters wide. Their performance here demonstrated that they are a high level system by virtue of their high output, great linearity and high efficiency."
