New TiMax V990 Software and laptop interface
The latest TiMax V99.9.0 software release is a completely new build of the TiMax software re-written for full compatibility with the Windows XP PC operating system.
The look and functionality remains the same as before to ensure operational consistency with the familiar TiMax audio imaging and showcontrol environment, but enhanced versatility and significant new audio management functions will are imminent as upgrades and optional plug-ins.
TiMax now features new PCI and PCMCIA drivers to allow the TiMax DSP audio matrix to be controlled either from a WinXP desktop PC or a laptop. These new cards will interface directly with all existing TiMax DSP systems without any hardware or firmware modifications.
As well as benefiting from the improved speed and stability of Windows XP Pro, TiMax is now able to take advantage of that platform's inbuilt Wi-Fi capability to allow roving tablet PC control via a wireless Ethernet network.
MIDI and SMPTE showcontrol interfacing is now provided by an off-the-shelf USB interface such as the MOTU Micro Express. Fully operational TiMax V99.9.0 software is available for download at Out Board's website.
