Property Awards Sound Great in the North West
The Palace Hotel in Manchester recently played host to the Insider Property Awards North West 2004, with corporate audio specialist Audio Alliance on hand to supply and oversee all sound and communications equipment.
The North West of England has been through some notable regeneration projects in recent years, and the past 12 months has seen many of them evolve. A mix of inspirational residential spaces matched with creative working communities have been born and this lively awards ceremony was staged to celebrate these achievements as well as reward those involved.
Audio Alliance had just a single day to install the system prior to a full day of rehearsals, followed by the awards ceremony in the evening. The event was compéred by Adrienne Lawler, presenter of ITV's Everything Must Go! and attended by over 700 delegates from the property industry, competing in a total of 13 categories.
The main PA system comprised of Meyer Sound UPJ-1P and UPM-1P loudspeakers, with d&b B1 subwoofers. Audio Alliance's Neil Hughes designed the system, using one of their new Midas Verona mixing consoles, along with a range of XTA equalisers, delays and compressors.
Microphones were provided in the form of hardwired Shure MX412s and Sennheiser SK3063 radio microphones. Sony CD and Minidic players provided playback along with Digidesign's ProTools for editing on site and the whole production team kept in touch via Stonewood Audio wired and Telex radio communications.
Chris Teague, technical producer for APS Ltd (Manchester), the production company behind the ceremony, was more than delighted with Audio Alliance's "hard work and creativity" and added, "even the client thought it was the best event ever."
