Scotland’s Lighting Show
Following the success of the debut event in 2003, Scottish lighting specialist Black Light is again hosting a trade show at its Edinburgh premises, taking place this year on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th September.
Such was the interest generated by last year’s show, the 2004 event has attracted a significantly higher number of leading lighting industry suppliers and specialists, meaning that the Show’s title of Scotland’s Lighting Show is well justified, say Black Light. Exhibitors for 2004 literally range from A to Z (ADB to Zero88), including City Theatrical, DHA Lighting, ETC, Lee Filters, Le Maitre, PCM, Prolyte, Rosco, SGM, Strand Lighting, Triple E and many more.
The Show is deliberately timed to follow the PLASA trade show at Earls Court and is designed to serve the many companies and organisations based in Scotland and northern England, to whom a trip to the London-based shows can be both time-consuming and expensive.
“Attending trade shows in the south can be difficult for many northern-based clients,” says black light managing director Gavin Stewart. “Travel time effectively uses up the best part of a day in each direction. And once hotel and travel costs have been taken into account, it can prove difficult to justify financially. Edinburgh is easy to get to from throughout Scotland and the north of England, with excellent transport links. In addition, as the host city of major events like the Festival, Fringe and Military Tattoo, it is a natural focus for production technology.”
As well as being a natural focal point for Scotland and northern England, the show also has a lot which will be of interest to those from all areas of the UK, as the number of high profile exhibitors proves. “The show is primarily designed to be a way of bringing manufacturers, users and potential users together to chat in a relaxing environment ,” continues Gavin Stewart. “We deliberately keep it very informal, so you can just turn up and chat without having to worry about registering or making appointments. Just turn up and enjoy some productive conversation over the supplied refreshments!”
Black Light’s specialist staff, including Iain Weir, general manager of black light’s new Glasgow office, will be on hand to assist visitors.
The event takes place at Black Light, 18 West Harbour Road, Granton, Edinburgh, EH5 1PN. Opening times are from 10.30am - 4.30pm on both days.
And Entertainment Technology Press will be there with all its current 30 titles available.
