TPi Announce Awards 05

Next year's Total Production International industry awards event — TPi Awards 05 — will take place on Monday 31st January 2005, once again at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith, west London. TPi's fourth annual event to date, the organisers promise another night not to be missed, with formidable production values, a host of surprises, excellent food and the chance for professionals to network and catch up on the previous year.

Despite a short history, the TPi Awards events have earned legendary status, and not just about the wild after-dinner partying! Since their inception in 2002, the Awards have attracted the involvement of such celebrities as Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Bob Geldof, Midge Ure, Damon Albarn, TV & radio personality Mike Read, Lemmy of Motorhead, promoter Harvey Goldsmith, soul pioneer Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave fame), Michael Eavis, jazz legend Chris Barber, blues singer/radio presenter Paul Jones, and last year’s host, Spandau Ballet bassist-turned-actor Martin Kemp.

Next January's event is set to feature appearances from even more top names, and will expand on the successful formula enjoyed by last year's audience — many of whom commented that it was the best event of its kind they had ever experienced. Voting for all but three of the 25 award categories is now underway and votes can be registered online at www.mondiale.co.uk.

The complete list of categories are as follows: Live Production of the Year, Front of House Engineer of the Year, Lighting Designer of the Year, Set Designer of the Year, Video Director of the Year, Rigger of the Year, Production Manager of the Year, Tour Manager of the Year, Tour/Production Assistant of the Year, Favourite Sound Rental Company, Favourite Lighting Rental Company, Favourite Set Construction Company, Favourite Staging Company, Favourite Video Services Company, Favourite Trucking Company, Favourite Tour Bus Company, Favourite Freight Company, Favourite Travel Agency, Favourite Security/Crowd Management Company, Favourite Catering Company, Favourite Venue, Unsung Hero Award, The Editor’s Award and the Lifetime Contribution Award.

Opportunities to sponsor a number of the award categories exist for interested parties.

Earlier in the day, the DaytimeTP programme will take place at the Novotel London West — a mini-exhibition of new technologies and services for the live event production industry, as presented by some of the leading manufacturers and service companies. Furthermore, the venue will be hosting the Annual General Meeting of the Production Services Association (PSA), followed by the PSA Conference.

Enquiries can be directed to Sally Clark at s.clark@mondiale.co.uk or by telephone at +44 (0)161 476 5580.
