White Light's Digital Festoon System Wins PLASA Award
Launched at PLASA 2004, the Digital Festoon System - a radical rethink of conventional festoon lighting that allows each lamp along a festoon to be individually dimmed - is now the award-winning Digital Festoon System. The system's potential was recognised by the judges of the PLASA Show's Awards for Innovation, who declared the Digital Festoon System one of the eight winners from 68 entries.
Giving the possibility of creating stunning lighting displays from apparently simple strings of lightbulbs, the Digital Festoon System carries both 48V power and DMX using a patented data system. Up to 200 lamps can be controlled from a single Digital Festoon System power unit either via a laptop or from a DMX lighting console.
Commenting on the product at the award presentation the judges remarked that the Digital Festoon System was "an innovative return to incandescent lighting with a product that the judges thought safe and foolproof, and which they believe will make inroads into entertainment lighting".
