Northern Studios and LiteStructures
Discussions with major production companies are underway and big name acts are already pencilled in after the studio opens at the end of February. But the rehearsal space is suitable for all types of productions, ranging from film and tv work to opera and West End musicals.
The state-of-the-art facility is rented dark with only a 60ft by 40ft movable stage present, while the rehearsal space itself is 138ft by 128ft with 54ft of clearance to the lighting grid - giving carte blanche to let imagination run riot. And with the full support of LiteStructures’ custom design department, nothing is impossible.
Cutting edge design has been combined with practicality to ensure that the rehearsal process is as straightforward as it gets - from the lift accessed walk-round lighting grid to the swipe card security system. Full soundproofing, allowing for high sound levels or secret, late night rehearsals is complemented by professional quality acoustics so rehearsals can be as realistic as the opening night or actual filming.
A fully equipped production office provides extensive business communications, while a modern gym, fitted kitchen, luxury green room and spacious dressing rooms afford artists the downtime needed to optimise performance. Discreetly tucked away from the rest of the operation, the comprehensive amenities provide an oasis of calm for both performers and crew.
Located immediately adjacent to LiteStructures’ manufacturing and rental facilities in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Northern Studios benefits from excellent transport links, with the A1, M1 and M62 all within easy reach. And being two hours by train or only one hour by helicopter (direct to the roof of the studios!) from London makes it ideal for jobs with a time budget. Overnighters will be a pleasure with plenty of great hotels to choose from in the surrounding cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield, so artists and crews can be kept in the manner to which they are accustomed.
Alternatively, for a more intimate location, a private four bedroom house in the local village is available for hire.
