Stomp Again Chooses Sennheiser

Stomp Again Chooses Sennheiser

Sennheiser has had a long association with Stomp, which now has shows based in London and New York with touring performances in North America, the UK and Europe. For a new production taking to the road in 2005 they have again chosen Sennheiser ME66/K6, purchased from sales and hire specialists SSE, who support the Stomp West End and touring productions. The tour is already confirmed for France, Holland, Germany, Japan and China with further countries still to be announced.

Mike Roberts, sound designer for Stomp explains the choice: “We use the Sennheiser ME66/K6 in an array to cover the entire stage. As well as superb audio quality we need mics that are physically robust and able to withstand the moisture, dust and heat of the show. It’s also not unusual for a mic to get hit by a pole or rubber tube, wielded by a performer. On our tours we’ve frequently tried other brands but never found anything to match the combination of quality and durability of Sennheiser.”

In 2002 the creators of Stomp, Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, wrote and directed the award-winning film ‘Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey’, and further projects are planned. To equip for these location-recording projects, Stomp also purchased two Sennheiser MKH60 short gun microphones through SSE.
