Lab.gruppen C Series Now Shipping - First Installs In Place
Lab.gruppen’s recently introduced C Series power amplification solutions for permanent installations are now shipping. In addition to the three previously announced, there is a new model – the C 68:4. The flagship delivers a total of 6800 watts at 4 ohms, split into four channels with 1700 watts each. The C 68:4 offers the very same features as all other C Series models: four channels efficiently packed in only two rack units, bridgeable channel pairs, adjustable gain and output voltage, NomadLink networking and monitoring, as well as advanced protection circuitry, to name a few.
The current C Series line-up now includes: C 68:4 4 x 1700W/1200W at 4/8 ohms; C 48:4 4 x 1200W/1000W at 4/8 ohms; C 28:4 4 x 600W/700W at 4/8 ohms; C 16:4 4 x 300W/400W at 4/8 ohms.
All C Series models incorporate patented Class TD design and regulated switch mode power supply, enabling all models, including the C 16:4, to drive a wide range of loads from 2 ohms to high-impedance 70/100V constant voltage lines directly. With only four models, C Series offers a power range from 300W to 3400W.
The built-in NomadLink network interface enables all C Series amplifiers to be easily monitored and controlled from a remote position by the DeviceControl software running on a PC. While NomadLink is a proprietary Lab.gruppen protocol, the interconnection to the remote PC client utilizes standard TCP/IP-Ethernet format for easy integration with existing facility networks and cabling.
“There is clearly a growing demand for high quality, high power amplifiers in installed sound systems,” states Michael J. Christensen, Lab.gruppen’s VP of Sales. “Our long proven technology enables us to provide an ultimately reliable and flexible amplifier with superb sonic quality. The C 68:4 is our biggest four-channel Class TD amplifier to date, and the ideal solution for powering for example subwoofers and sets of multiple line array modules. The applications are endless - houses of worship, convention centers, arenas, stadiums and theme parks - to name a few. High quality, easy integration and reduced power and rack space requirements are in high demand for these types of systems.”
First installs are completed, from church systems in the U.S.A. via club installations in Europe to a railway station in Guangzhou/China. With C Series in high demand and new orders coming in every day, production at the factory in Sweden is being brought up to full capacity.
