Midas Heritage 3000 Brings Rock Solid Reliabiity to Ancient City of Petra

Jordan’s leading PA and production company, Abujaber Brothers Co, have provided Midas Heritage 3000 consoles for a variety of projects throughout Jordan; mostly notably for a prestigious concert at Petra, one of the most significant UN World Heritage sites.

The concert, starring world-famous opera singer Barbara Hendrix, was held at a small site near the main temple at Petra. It was staged in honour of a delegation of 30 Nobel Prize winners gathered together by His Majesty, King Abdullah II of Jordan for a brainstorming session to provide fresh impetus to the Middle East peace process.    The event was attended by the Dalai Llama, Bill Clinton, Richard Gere, Amman-based ambassadors and Jordanian Government Ministers in addition to the Jordanian royal family and the Nobel Laureates.

“This was not an event to be taken lightly,” said Marwan Abujaber, owner of Abujaber Brothers Co. who provided the PA system. “Due to the prestigious nature of the event, plus the high profile guest list, the Heritage 3000 was an obvious choice. Another consideration besides the sonic performance of the desk was its flexibility and consistency, as working in the rock city of Petra with its desert conditions meant we needed rock solid reliability.”

Following the concert, Abujaber’s team de-rigged and transported the system 300 km to a site beside the Dead Sea for a gala dinner to close a session of the World Economic Forum. “This was a similar event in many ways,” he says. “The same 40-piece orchestra which performed at the Petra concert was used, this time to back performances by classical regional singers.”

Other recent events that Abujaber has used his Midas Heritage 3000s for was a wedding featuring international musical talent for an audience of 1,000 guests, including top Arab singer Ragheb Alameh and leading French band Adi Golan, plus an appearance by the Bond Girls. The latter was of particular interest since it took place in the new Royal Convention Centre at the Dead Sea, 411 m below sea level. This show was the first outing for Abujaber’s new Midas Siena desk, which handled on-stage monitoring while an H3000 was used for FOH.
