Capital Sound and Pro Audio Systems Supply Milo For A-Ha European Tour
Capital Sound have been working in conjunction with Pro Audio Systems, the Bradford-based audio and AV sales and rental company, to supply a Meyer Sound Milo system for a-ha’s current European tour.
The tour, which takes in 48 dates in 25 cities, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the group’s first appearance in the Billboard 100, and the launch of their new studio album Analogue.
Pro Audio Systems has supplied 18 Meyer Sound Milo 90 and two Milo 120 high-power, curvilinear array cabinets, along with 12 700HP ultrahigh-power subs. Also included is the company’s proprietary mains distribution system.
PA Systems has also supplied the drive system, comprising two Meyer Sound LD3 Line Drivers and two Klark Teknik DN9848 loudspeaker processors, providing system delays, and dispersion control for the subs. “The LD3s are being used to zone and drive the self powered line array, and provide atmospheric and propagation loss compensation,” explains technical director, Brian Lumb. “One Klark Teknik DN984 is providing system delays and system EQ when required. The other is dedicated to the sub bass system, providing dispersion control by means of creating a virtual arc cardioid array. Arranging the subs in this manner keeps the stage area free of LF energy, and eliminates comb filtering associated with left, right sub bass placement.”
Capital Sound is additionally providing 10 Milo 90 and two Milo 120 cabs in the main speaker system, four 700HPs, and 16 Milo 90s providing the side fills. Eight Meyer MD1s are used as front fills. Front of house console is a Digico D5, while monitors are handled by a Yamaha PM5D; a Midas Venice is handling the support bands monitors. BSS, KT, Lexicon, and Yamaha effects are used for FOH and monitors.
