DPA Appoints New Distributor for South Africa
DPA has announced the appointment of Prosound as its South African distributor. Prosound’s head office is based in Johannesburg, and the company also has offices in Durban,Cape Town and most recently, Dubai.
Established in 1973, Prosound has become a leading force in the Southern African professional audio industry over the past three decades. Providing services ranging from rental to full turnkey installations, Prosound deals with the pro audio industry right across the board, including live sound, broadcast, studios, education and places of worship. The company has worked on projects across the Africa continent and as far afield as Albania and Mauritius and prides itself on providing world class engineering and systems solutions, from the smallest one-man band to the largest airport in Africa.
“Prosound has been representing and distributing world renowned pro-audio products such as Meyer Sound, Midas, Electro-Voice, Dynaudio Acoustic etc. for a number of years in Southern Africa – so to be able to represent a world-class brand such as DPA Microphones is definitely a great boost for us,” says Prosound’s sales and marketing manager Francois Lötter. “We see great opportunities for DPA microphones not only in the broadcast and studio market but also in the theatre industry, which has recently experienced a revival in South Africa.”
