Pioneer Launch New 50-inch ‘Pure Performance’ Professional Plasma Display
“The screen evolves industrial display technology with its Direct Colour Filter. It eradicates internal and reduces external light reflections, while sharpening contrast and improving colour purity,”’ observes Darren Gaffey, European product manager, Plasma Business Division Pioneer Europe. “‘The new filter is complemented by a range of core technologies and, our renowned Expansion Solutions system that reduces the cost of building plasma networks and enables a screen’s capabilities to be changed or enhanced. With its smart features the display will add to our reputation for quality, reliability and return on investment.”
The Direct Colour Filter is a layer that’s directly attached to the display’s glass panel. Negating the need for a separate an additional glass front panel, it reduces reflections and increases black levels to produce vibrant colours, enhances contrast in light environments and delivers immaculate picture performance.
Pioneer’s proprietary PureDrive system encompasses a range of technologies to maintain the complete integrity of digital signals for a clear, smooth and natural-looking image. These technologies include: Super CLEAR Drive that enables superior gradation in darker picture areas, reproduces a wide range of colours and completely removes false contour effects; Pioneer’s Deep Encased Cell Structure which generates one of the highest brightness levels (white peak) in the industry; Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) and MPEG Noise Reduction that respectively reduce both random and mosquito noise (unique to MPEG signals); an image enhancer to emphasise image contours without causing adverse effects and Colour Detail Adjustment that allows users to fine-adjust the balance of the six key colours.
Pioneer Expansion Solutions (ES) enhances connectivity options - flexibility that both reduces the cost of building plasma installations and extends investment returns.
In addition to the standard 15 Pin D-sub and DVI-D connector the display includes two open architecture expansion slots. One slot is dedicated for signal input with two optional Pioneer expansion cards available to handle all of the major video signals. The second is a unique communications slot that includes an RS-232C expansion card as standard. With their open architecture, these slots enable interchangeable cards to be designed by third party developers to handle all current and future analogue, digital and communications signals. Pioneer’s plasmas can be adapted to allow access to the Internet, to create a TV tuner, to be controlled remotely, to support MPEG content and wireless connectivity and to be connected to an embedded PC. Expansion Solutions is a standard feature on Pioneer’s PDP-50MXE11, PDP-50MXE1 and PDP-43MXE1 displays.
