Community Launches New Tandem Drive Portable Loudspeaker Systems
The Tandem Drive Series of portable loudspeaker systems from Community consists of four cabinets: two full-range models that can be combined with either of two subwoofers. This mix-and-match arrangement offers portability, power, clarity, and versatility for DJ, corporate, worship, and live performance applications.
Each Tandem Drive enclosure is protected with TufCoat, a virtually indestructible finish that is highly resistant to knocks and scratches, and features ErgoGrip handles. Inside each box, proprietary low frequency drivers feature Community's new, patented, Cool-Coil? technology and every model is internally safeguarded with DynaTech, a protection circuit which guarantees maximum output without the risk of speaker damage. Both full-range systems can be bi-amped without the need for an external crossover and include a midrange cut-boost switch for sound modelling on the fly.
The full-range TD212 (49 lbs) and the TD215 (71 lbs) both employ Community's horn-loaded 90 x 40 UC1 high frequency driver and dual Cool-Coil woofers. The dual woofers, one front firing and one down firing, give extended low frequency response and efficiency in a compact enclosure. The low mass, Ferrofluid-cooled high frequency driver dissipates heat quickly and is fitted with a non-metallic diaphragm to increase internal damping, reduce ringing, and provide a more accurate response with extremely low distortion.
The TD215S (92 lbs) and TD218S (144 lbs) subwoofers use dual 15-inch and 18-inch Cool-Coil? drivers respectively, in vented cabinets. Both systems employ Community's Load Matching full-range output and incorporate an LF filter bypass switch.
Accessories for the Tandem Drive Series include Community's STRAPKIT: three heavy gauge steel straps for attaching rigging to threaded inserts (for all models except the TD218S). For permanent installations, the WB1 wall-mount bracket kit attaches to the sides or top/bottom of Tandem full range loudspeakers for adjusting either vertical or horizontal mounting angle. Heavy-duty castors are available for the TD218S for mobile use and both sub systems make a rock-solid base for full range systems when using the MP33 or SB5 mounting pole.
