Richard Ferriday Brand Development Manager for Midas and Klark Teknik

Midas and Klark Teknik have promoted former UK sales manager Richard Ferriday to the newly-created role of brand development manager. The position has been created to fulfill a dual purpose: to increase contact with the brands¹ end users, and to provide enhanced product support and training to the companies’ worldwide distributors.

Ferriday, who joined Midas in 2002, worked for a UK Midas distributor for eight years, and prior to that was a partner in Tourco, a UK-based PA rental company.

"Having been a sound engineer and running my own rental company means I have a good understanding of the market and can relate to the end user," says Ferriday. "The primary function of my new role, which I foresee will evolve over time to suit the circumstances, will be talking to end users and feeding market-driven information back to our R&D team. It will also work in the opposite direction: helping our worldwide distributors with product training and technically-biased support on a marketing basis.

"We have the advantage of a very established and experienced distributor network, and this move will bring us closer to our customers as well, giving us the benefit of information at first hand."

One of Ferriday¹s first projects at Midas was to work as part of the design team for Verona, launched in early 2004. His priorities will now be to establish Siena, launched at NAMM 2005, and to work alongside R&D engineers to develop new products for both Midas and Klark Teknik, primarily Midas’ forthcoming digital console.
