Allen & Heath Installed in Baltic Arena
The Arena is technically equipped to cater for a variety of uses, including music concerts and sporting events, via a holistic IS control protocol for the environment (heating and ventilation), lighting, visual, sound and security systems. The GL2200 is the Arena's main audio console, controlling all sound output, including audio from a video cube. Audio is managed and distributed by the iDR-8 digital mixing processor.
One of the most prestigious events in the Lithuanian music calendar was held in the Arena earlier this year. The national radio station, Radio Centras, presented awards to the country's top music groups, and there was a guest performance from the UK group, Right Said Fred. The ML5000 was used to manage FOH sound, with Electro-Voice X-Line speaker system.
The Arena is also annually transformed into an ice skating rink, as the floor can hold 2000³ metres of water, which fills the arena via pipes in the floor.
