Audio Alliance Makes Prague Sound Great for Roche

Corporate audio specialists, Audio Alliance, recently provided an extensive sound and communication system for the Sales Conference for Roche UK, a vibrant affair set in Prague, Europe’s most magical city.

Roche, a leading research-based healthcare company, has been established for over 100 years and is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. Audio Alliance has worked with the UK business on several occasions, and was invited back to supply their services to production manager, Peter Woods and production company CCL-Live, the people responsible for staging this multi faceted week long conference.

Nearly 700 delegates were hosted at Prague’s Hilton Hotel for an inspiring and entertaining programme. The conference operated in and around ten rooms, comprising of a main auditorium and nine breakout facilities.

Audio Alliance had their work cut out, supplying specific systems for each location. Indeed it was for this reason they were selected, as Peter Woods the production manager explains: “I chose Audio Alliance because of their renowned professionalism, while I can be assured of their flexibility on and off site.” This skill certainly came into play in Prague, when an extra room was added with very little notice. The Audio Alliance team took up the challenge to supply a full sound system from spares and a quick shopping trip around Prague.

The main auditorium, was where all delegates were treated to guest keynote speakers, including Simon Woodruffe, the founder of restaurant chain Yo! Sushi, Matthew Pinsent, four times Olympic rowing champion and Midge Ure, the award winning musical artist. The sound system here included a Pro Tools set up, offering intuitive editing and playback facilities with Audio Alliance’s extensive library of music and effects.

When the delegates were invited to enjoy a one night only performance from tribute band ‘Killer Queen’, Audio Alliance added, and removed, the equipment required to turn the auditorium into a rock ’n’ roll venue. A full monitor system comprising a Midas Verona desk and EAW wedges were added to compliment the already installed Midas front of house console, with a mix of Audio Alliance’s Meyer Sound and d&b loudspeakers.

Another evening transported the guests to another century, a gala dinner held in the stately and ancient Prague castle. MD Oliver Driver describes the evening as: “Quite a unique experience, installing a sound system into such a precious and beautiful building was daunting and an event I wouldn’t have missed as the electrifying evening unravelled.”

An engineering team of five tended to the needs of this very busy week long event and by all accounts delivered clarity of service as well as the quality of sound.
