Camco Drives Porsche AGM
As one would expect from a manufacturer renowned for its high-quality engineering standards, the annual general meeting of Porsche AG was a technically distinguished affair. Using a Camco-powered Nexo GEO S array system, PA company MK-Veranstaltungstechnik was able to give 3,000 Porsche shareholders a smooth ride.
Porsche staged its 2005 Annual General Meeting at the Stuttgart Messe Congress Centre. The 80-metre long hall was designed for exhibitions, so the imperfect acoustics represented quite a problem for sound engineers. The Welzheim-based audio company MK-Veranstaltungstechnik had to design a very precise system solution for the venue, which would deliver high intelligibility for the speeches.
Thomas Furthmüller from MK-Veranstaltungstechnik explained: "The set-up stage was very strictly organised, as there wasn't much time for preparation. There was no time to reposition or re-adjust the line array so the first set-up had to be right - and it was 100%, thanks to the GEO Soft's reliable simulation results." The system comprised two GEO S arrays, each with 9x S805 and 1x S830 cabinets, with two CD12s per side. Two D&B B2-Subs were selected for sub-bass, with D&B E3s and C690s as near fills. The entire system was driven by two Camco racks, each equipped with two Vortex 6 amplifiers and one Nexo NX241 controller.
"The result proved me right," confirms Thomas Furthmüller. "As this event needed high-quality speech amplification, for me the Nexo GEO S line array in conjunction with Vortex amps was the only choice. The speeches and the showing of the image film came across fantastically well."
Technical project management, including live camera and video projection, was provided by ACS Medientechnik, with MK-Veranstaltungstechnik handling light and sound requirements inside and outside the hall.
