Meyer Sound Keeps Austrian Empire Dancing
The Empire chain is one of Austria's best-known discotheque groups with premises at Imst, Wörgl, Linz, St. Martin/Mühlkreis, Oepping, Vienna and Horn. At the end of 2004, owner Joachim Natschläger opened the doors to a new addition to his group: the Empire Club at Sattledt in Upper Austria.
The Sattledt venue was intended to offer the latest trends in Austrian nightlife. In keeping with this, systems integrator Kraftwerk Licht-und Tontechnik of Wels, Austria provided the most up-to-date sound and lighting system to give the country’s sophisticated clubgoers the spectacular evenings they have come to expect from the Empire chain. Great sound is obviously a key factor in this, and, consequently, Kraftwerk chose a Meyer Sound loudspeaker system to fulfill Natschläger’s requirements.
The club covers an area of 600 square meters and is divided into a main discotheque, a VIP bar and a comfortable lounge area, allowing between 800 and 1,000 people access to an unforgettable occasion. And, as in all the other Empire Clubs, there is a varied week-long programme.
Having previously completed an award-winning installation at World of Nightlife in Graz, which included Meyer Sound loudspeaker systems in most of its many venues, Kraftwerk’s managing director, Manfred Meier, was confident that Meyer would once again provide the best solution for the project. “Meyer Sound’s products are particularly suitable for this club,” he comments. “Their great quality and compact design made them the best solution for us.”
A UPA-1P compact wide coverage loudspeaker hangs above each corner of the 40 square meter dance floor, while two 700-HP ultrahigh-power subwoofers sit side-by-side under the stage in front of the DJ booth. Four UPJ-1P compact VariO™ loudspeakers are positioned behind the UPA-1P cabinets, facing away from the dance floor to distribute the music to the rest of the club. The cabinets are installed horizontally to accommodate height restrictions, a tactic made easy by the UPJ-1P’s rotatable horn and various mounting options.
“With meticulous planning and innovative light and sound equipment, Kraftwerk has made an essential contribution to the success of the new Empire Club,” comments Meier. “Kraftwerk is a specialist in the Austrian installation marketplace and our complete solutions make us a great partner for leisure industry.”
