New Dublin Office and All Action for LED Screen Hire

It’s been all action so far this year for Hampshire-based LED Screen Hire – with a new company, new investment and new people - in a clear indication that the production and events industry continues to be buoyant.

LED Screen Hire Ireland Ltd, headed by Hamlet Sweeney, is a new Irish sister company to the specialist LED screen operation. Based in Dublin 1, it will service the company’s existing clients in the region and capitalise on new and expanding commercial opportunities. The company will offer quality service at the right price in Ireland, taking advantage of the country’s busy events and live entertainment industry which includes music, sporting, corporate, marketing and public events of all types.

Hamlet Sweeney’s background has been primarily music orientated for the last 15 years, and he’s toured with a string of top international artists including UB40, Meat Loaf, The Hothouse Flowers, The Waterboys, etc. For the last five years he’s specialised in visuals and LED screens, and his “energy and enthusiasm for the business and technical skills make him ideal to lead the Irish operation,” says LED Lighting Hire’s Steven Rhodes.

LED Screen Hire UK has meanwhile made a £750,000 investment in new screens so far this year, with more to come. This follows on from substantial sums spent in 2004 and will boost the company’s reputation for supplying top end quality LED screens.

Both UK and Irish companies now have access to over 200 square metres of LED screen for all types of applications, including 120m2 of product new to the marketplace this year, 40 m2 of mobile LED truck screen and true indoor/outdoor 10 mm pixel pitch product.

The company’s sales success has benefited enormously from the addition of two people joining the team in 2004, now based at LED Screen Hire’s UK HQ in Alton, Hampshire. Both anticipate a busy year ahead.

Nick Pask brings a wealth of knowledge in business development and project management. His previous experience has included most latterly the senior project management of large contracts in the LED and visuals rental industry, and previously he’s worked with major blue-chip companies. His CV includes substantial operational management experience and training and marketing and sales know-how in the AV industry.

Steven Rhodes says: “Nick is a great asset to our core team here in the UK. He has many contacts in the industry and his communications skills, creative approach and lateral thinking abilities are ideally suited to our modus operandi.”

Dion Strydom has also joined LED Screen Hire, bringing 10 years AV industry experience including project managing a host of high profile international LED screen events from carnivals in Brazil to football in Morocco to UK music festivals.

“Dion’s professional attitude, optimism and attention to detail has gained him much respect from clients, suppliers and crew and we jumped at the opportunity to get him onboard,” says Rhodes. He’ll continue to look after long-standing clients as well as seek out new business opportunities.

LED Screen Hire has had a number of major contracts confirmed for this year, including 25 regional Party In The Parks, for a selection of local radio stations, and six London area Party In The Parks in conjunction with Capital Radio. They’ve also just landed the contract to service Chester Racecourse’s LED screen requirements for the second year ruining, and are currently busy across the UK with the Zurich Rugby Premiership fixtures.
