EM Acoustics Make Their Mark via Autograph
EM Acoustics distributor Autograph Sales has announced that this British-designed loudspeaker is truly making its mark up and down the country. A relative newcomer to the professional audio scene, the EM Acoustics range is impressing installers, sound designers and consultants alike in the demanding installation market.
London-based system installation and music production Company Electracoustic Ltd specified EM Acoustics loudspeakers and custom rigging from Autograph Sales, as part of a complete sound system supplied and installed at Chak 89, a brand new multi purpose venue opening in Mitcham this month.
Chak 89 will cater for all occasions, especially serving the local Asian community. The venue's sound system design had to be versatile enough to accommodate DJs, parties, ceremonies, live bands, cinema and conference. Electracoustic's Jon Trotter chose EM Acoustics as a high quality but affordable solution. EM Acoustics accommodated the venue's need to be visually discrete and supplied the cabinets in a barley white finish, helping them to disappear into the interior’s luxurious design.
Loudspeakers supplied were EM Acoustics EMS-121s situated at the front of the venue, with EMS215 subs built into concrete bunkers, in order to minimise vibration leakage that could potentially disturb nearby residents. A further six EMS-81s have been installed around the perimeter of the venue, for delay and surround effects.
EM Acoustics has also been chosen for a contemporary church installation, Kings Community Church Southampton. Local specialists Sound People Ltd were invited to design a system to suit live music and vocal applications. Neil Brown, Sound People's founding director, installed the loudspeakers, purchased once again from Autograph Sales with custom rigging.
Value for money matched with audio quality was the deciding factor this time too, with EM Acoustics being chosen to deliver sound for the church’s Sunday meetings as well as for other varied programmes that unfold throughout the week.
Kings Church is an unusual shape building, much like many newly designed purpose built churches today, so the installation had to be well thought out. A Central cluster of three EMS-121s has been installed with a further three EMS-81s for balcony fill. Two I-8 compound isobaric miniature subs are located under the stage, offering just the right amount of bass from a pair of tiny enclosures.
Sound People have received tremendous feedback from the church, who are delighted with their new EM Acoustics system, especially the congregation. 'They are a very musical community,” explains Neil Brown, “and therefore actually understand and are enjoying the benefits of high quality and clarity of sound.”
