Utopium Lighting for Star Wars

Utopium Lighting Ltd. used their ‘force’ in staging the premier of the latest and last of the Star Wars movies. AD Events contracted Utopium Lighting Ltd., who requested Chris Bushell (LD) and James Maillardet (project manager) to produce the show. George Lucas was there in Leicester Square to appreciate the event, along with the ‘stars’ and crowds.

Contained on the 15m Orbit Stage was the rig of PixelLine, xSpot Extremes, Studio PC Beams, Cyberlight Turbos and a Whole Hog II. Ground support towers were used for the lights needed for the ‘red carpet’ entrance with the CO2 cannons saved for the arrival of Darth Vader. In addition to lighting the show, Utopium rigged all the one-ton LED video screens - one on the roof and six on the G/S towers.

A few weeks early Utopium Lighting had lit the premier of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy – using City Colours and Studio PC Beams to brighten the outside of the ‘aftershow party’ in the Masonic Hall in London.
